🎒 What Fits In My Bag
Enter your bag's capacity and the items you want to carry — this tool totals their volume, shows how full the bag will be, and tells you whether it all fits before you head out.
🎒 Pack It Before You Pack It
What is the "What Fits In My Bag" tool?
It's a packing sanity check you run before you leave. Enter your bag's capacity in litres and build a list of what you want to carry — pulling from quick-add presets or typing your own — and it sums the volume, works out how full the bag will be as a percentage, and flags whether everything fits or you're over the limit.
Use it to decide whether today's carry needs a bigger bag, or to compare loadouts for work, the gym, and a day out. Item volumes and packing are approximate, so treat a near-full bag as tight rather than a promise.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
How does this decide whether everything fits?
It adds up the volume in litres of every item you list and compares the total against your bag's capacity. If the used volume is at or below the capacity, it fits; if it's over, it won't — and the remaining figure goes negative to show how much you'd need to leave behind.
Where do the item volumes come from?
You can type any volume, or use the quick-add presets for common items — roughly a 15" laptop at 3 litres, a 500 ml water bottle at 0.75 litres, a folded umbrella at 0.5 litres, a bifold wallet at 0.3 litres, and an A5 notebook at 0.8 litres. These are approximate footprints to get you close.
Why does a bag that 'fits' on paper still feel stuffed?
Volume adds up, but shape doesn't pack perfectly — rigid items leave awkward gaps, and a bag filled to 95% will feel tight and hard to close. Treat anything near 100% full as a squeeze, and leave some headroom for the things you pick up during the day.
What capacity should I enter for my bag?
Use the bag's stated litre capacity if you know it, or estimate it with our bag capacity calculator from its length, width, and height. Enter the interior capacity where possible, since that's the space you actually pack into.
